Proud as Punch.........again!

After her debut last year as a young Scotland Internationalist and playing this year for Scotland young indoor bowlers, Eilidh Weir has again been selected to play for Bowls Scotland Ladies under 25 team in the 4 nations in July 2017 in Londonderry. Alloa East End are proud of the achievements of such a young bolwer who is a credit to herself and her club.

Eilidh will also represent the East End this year at Northfiled, Ayr as she won the ladies under 25 District Competition on Saturday 27th May to progress to the National Finals.

Please visit our juniors page for more success stories from the winter indoor season..........

She's off........Down Under!

Another huge congratulations to Alloa East Ends Becky Craig who has been selected to represent team Scotland in Australia this year.

Becky has certainly made her mark on the international stage and is an ambassador for the club. Helping to coach our junior section she can inspire our young bowlers of the future.

We wish Becky every success in her forthcoming trip down under.

Season 2017

Community Matters......

Funded by Clackmannanshire Council and the Scottish Government Community Choices Programme, Alloa East End are very pleased to take delivery of a new Dennis Lawnmower. After promoting our cause amongst some other community projects, everyone was at the mercy of the general public to vote for who they thought should receive a share of the funding that was made available. Alloa Town Hall hosted an event where each of the community groups had to go and pitch their ideas to the general public and then voting took place for the top 5 projects to receive a share of the awards. We are extremely greatful to have been part of this as without it, small clubs and organisations such as ourselves would not be able to achieve half of the things that we do. We look forward to many years of stress free green keeping in the years to come.

Pictured left is our club president of this year, Sheila Rogerson receiving the mower from Hendersons of Kinross.

In conjunction with Bowls Scotland, Alloa East End Bowling Club are happy to be at the forefront of promoting and progressing the sport of lawn bowls among the younger generation, those with disabilities and newcomers in general to the sport.

As can be seen from the clip on the left, the club is trying to disperse the myth that bowls is a sport for only the older generation and where you must still dress in grey trousers and white shirt.

We are one of the first clubs to introduce a smart new leisure wear approach including polo shirts, hooded tops and Track style bottoms, all in club colours to encourage a new generation of bowler to get involved in the sport.

All ages and abilities welcome and we are seeking new members to joing now.
